May 14

EVG reader Chris spotted this late this afternoon along East 10th Street by the Park... While there isn't a newspaper included to date the shot, we checked in with our friends at the Astronomical Applications Dept., U.S. Naval Observatory in Washington. They confirmed that the Altitude and Azimuth of the sun as seen in the photo lines up with the projections for this date.

Our very own Bobby Williams spotted this beauty late this afternoon near East Houston and Second Avenue... the quick-thinking photographer also calmly found a Daily News for authentication purposes.

And there's a happy ending: the tree was just mulched and mashed into Vegan Bowery Burgers at Whole Foods.

May 16*

EV Grieve reader Scott passes this photo along from Seventh Street between Avenue A and Avenue B today. So card-carry members of the International Coalition of Tree Tossing in the Spring (ICTTS) will quickly note that:

A) There is no newspaper for authentication, verification or substantiation.
B) It's a fake tree.

Still. We dutifully Skyped ICTTS spokesperson Gruber MacDougal, currently on a truffle-hunting expedition in Western Australia. An ICTTS tribunal will hold a hearing sometime soon in the future or later.

May 7, 8; ICTTS convenes emergency session — MacDougal cites 'historic' weekend

An incredible 24 hours or so hereabouts... Last night, EV Grieve reader Riian sends the following from Second Avenue and East Third Street — featuring a noteworthy assist by a hand.

Meanwhile, apparently Christmastown was closing up on Broadway and Fourth Street today. First, this shot from EV Grieve reader BH, who took time for a victory lap of sorts. "Today, baby! That's right! BOOYA!! ICTTS don't like it they can kiss my ass!!"

Why I never!

Regardless, this pile was verified. @sandwichboarder sent this photo from the same location...

Upon learning of this load of Christmas trees, Gruber MacDougal, spokesperson for the International Coalition of Tree Tossing in the Spring (ICTTS), immediately left Aman-i-Khás, a lodge located outside Ranthambhore in the Indian state of Rajasthan where he was on holiday with his mother. He is expected to make a statement upon landing at JFK tomorrow night.

OK! Roger_Paw made this discovery today on East First Street between First Avenue and Second Avenue...

And she is quite excited about this. "I rushed over to the nearby gas station and bought a paper to prove authentication. The thing still had lights and ornaments on it!"

Gruber MacDougal, spokesperson for the International Coalition of Tree Tossing in the Spring (ICTTS), was his usual reserved self.

"We applaud Roger_Paw for paying $1.25 for today's New York Post," said MacDougal, who's attending the beatification ceremony for Pope John Paul II in St. Peter’s Square. "In our estimation, the paper was only worth 87 cents."
