On Tuesday, we noted that the former TakeMeHome Rotisserie Chicken space was under renovation at 151 Avenue A between Ninth Street and 10th Street.
A sign for the USPS arrived on the front door yesterday ... complete with a business name. And it has nothing to do with (presumably!) dessert or beer/vape or vape/beer ... it's Quick Repair and Electronics...

The storefront has been vacant since the quick-serve TakeMeHome venture closed in the summer of 2016.

Storefront makeover for the former TakeMeHome Rotisserie Chicken on Avenue A
The former TakeMeHome Rotisserie Chicken space is getting a makeover at 151 Avenue A between Ninth Street and 10th Street... on Saturday, just the "Take Me Home, I'm Hot!" signage remained...
That was gone by the end of Sunday...

There aren't any work permits on file with the city for the storefront's renovation ... so that eliminates one way of finding out what might be next here. (Going with either dessert or a smoke-vape/vape-smoke shop.)
The space has sat empty since TakeMeHome officially closed in the summer of 2016. (As you may recall, TakeMeHome would close for weeks at a time.)
TakeMeHome opened in November 2014. The address was previously a San Loco outpost.

Former TakeMeHome space wants you to rent it
The for rent signed finally arrived late last week at 151 Avenue A, most recently TakeMeHome Rotisserie Chicken.
The to-go shop never seemed to have it together ... shutting down for weeks at a time before resuming business. It finally closed this past summer.
To date, the listing at Winick hasn't been posted. (Most of their listings note that the rent is available upon request.)
Before TakeMeHome opened, high-profile restaurateurs Ken Friedman and April Bloomfield were vying to open a cafe here in the spring of 2014, though the CB3/SLA Liquor Licensing Committee voted to deny them a license, disappointing fans of chicken liver toast in the process.

Looks like the end for TakeMeHome Rotisserie Chicken on Avenue A
The quick-serve restaurant at 151 Avenue A between East Ninth Street and East 10th Street kept irregular hours in recent months. It was closed for roughly two weeks, then open again for one night, and so on.
Now it appears TakeMeHome has served its last chicken. Legal documents arrived on the door last week... with a Rent Demand for the sum of $29,277.70 (the "arrears").
As we said in previous posts, people we talked with generally liked the food here — large portions for the price. But it never could sustain any business.

[Updated] TakeMeHome Rotisserie Chicken hasn't been open lately
The quick-serve restaurant at 151 Avenue A between East Ninth Street and East 10th Street has been dark for the past 10 days or so.
There's no answer on TakeMeHome's phone. And Seamless says the restaurant is now closed.
TakeMeHome did close without a note or notice in December 2014 — just three weeks after opening. (We were told the owner's wife had a baby.) Unfortunately, the closure looks more permanent this time.
In any event, people we talked with generally liked the food — large portions for the price. Never seemed to catch on, though.

Updates on 3 recent quick-serve food closures
[Photo from November]
Paper went up in the windows at Oaxaca Taqueria in late November. A note on the door pointed to renovations for the taco shop at 125 E. Seventh St. between Avenue A and First Avenue.
More recently, a notice appeared, showing that the owners were behind on rent…
The space has also been on the market.

In late November, the city temporarily closed Puddin', the small shop at 102 St. Mark's Place that sells pudding, pudding-filled cakes and Frozen Puddin' Pops, for lacking some kind of paperwork…
Puddin' remains closed, without any explanation about it on their website or social media properties.

TakeMeHome Rotisserie Chicken opened Nov. 23 at 151 Avenue A between East Ninth Street and East 10th Street. Then during the week of Dec. 8, the quick-service restaurant mysteriously closed without any note/explanation/etc.
But! A help wanted sign recently appeared… and this past weekend we noticed that they were open once again… and now with a phonograph inside…

TakeMeHome Rotisserie Chicken hasn't been open lately after just 3 weeks in business
The quick-serve restaurant opened Nov. 23 at 151 Avenue A between East Ninth Street and East 10th Street.
And TakeMeHome Rotisserie Chicken has been closed the last two nights … and the owners haven't left any notes about a temporary closure due to some unforeseen circumstance. And there isn't any outgoing voice message. (We couldn't even find a Yelp review for them.)
IF this place is closed for good … it won't be any recent closure record. In 2011, an Italian restaurant called Tre Scalini closed after less than two weeks at 130 St. Mark's Place.
As for 151 Avenue A, the San Loco closed here back in February. The CB3/SLA Liquor Licensing Committee voted to deny high-profile restaurateurs Ken Friedman and April Bloomfield a license to open a
