You may now pig out at BarBacon on 4th Avenue
BarBacon has debuted at 127 Fourth Ave. between 12th Street and 13th Street ... an EVG reader shared this photo from last evening.
This is the second NYC location (the other is on Ninth Avenue near 55th Street) for the bacon-centric bar-restaurant that celebrates the whole hog with swine-spiked menu items and drinks. You can find their "chef-driven bacon dishes" here.
This Fourth Avenue space was previously Royal, the lounge-pub place that closed in April 2016.

Will we finally be getting that 'fresh, artisanal bacon' shop in the East Village?
An EVG reader spotted this new sign over at 75 E. Fourth St. between Second Avenue and the Bowery...
...advertising a new business — Pigskin™ ...
"Fresh, artisanal bacon from all over the world."
"Bacon for bacon lovers."
Heh.
Well, this is likely a gag... Perhaps timed for April Fool's Day ... Or not!
The space is the former home of the FAB Café ... it's now the FABworks Storefront operated by Fourth Arts Block and Made in the Lower East Side ... not sure what is coming next to the co-working space. Maybe someone wants to get their bacon biz a go?

Reader mailbag: Do East 15th Street residents 'still suffer from rancid bacon smells ...?'
From the EV Grieve inbox...
Good question! We have no idea!
Back in November, a commenter (or two) posted several, uh, comments about how awful it is to live behind the IHOP. For instance: "The noise from the equipment never, never stops, and the smell! The SMELL!!!! My apartment stinks like a cheap hotel kitchen after the breakfast rush now. If you own an apartment in one of the neighborhoods slated to get their very own IHop (I'm looking at you, Limelight neighbors), sell now."
Has the situation improved, East 15th Street? People are asking...
P.S.
If you have $14 million or so, then you could buy the building that IHOP is in... it's on the market.
What's the status on the unfortunate situation regarding the back of the new iHop on 14th Street? Has anything been changed? Or do people still suffer from rancid bacon smells permeating their apartments?

The next dessert concept for St. Mark's Place: bacon-filled macarons
So, we have places selling sweet buns and pudding on St. Mark's Place between Avenue A and First Avenue... and now?
As Julie Shapiro reports at DNAinfo this morning, Macaron Parlour is taking over the vacant storefronts at 111 St. Mark's Place, part of the former Chocolate Library.
The desserts debuted at the Hester Street Fair in 2010... this will be the first shop for Christina Ha and Simon Tung. Per DNA:
"[T]he bakery takes the traditional macaron and adds unusual fillings, from fresh strawberries to candied bacon and maple cream cheese.
For every lemon macaron sold, Macaron Parlor donates $1 to Alex's Lemonade Stand, an organization that seeks to cure pediatric cancer.
These were two of the storefronts that we suggested Bleecker Bob's look at for their relocation.
