What a day that was: You can still see 'Stop Making Sense' in theaters
ICYMI: The newly restored version of "Stop Making Sense" has been in theaters in recent weeks to coincide with its 40th anniversary of Jonathan Demme's renowned concert film.
I have the cassette and saw them live at Forest Hills around that time. See link. And I saw Byrne on 10st Street just west off 5th Ave walking along with his bike helmet in his hand around 20 years ago.

You can still see him around downtown a dozen times in any given year.
