Noting

Always seems that people only discard large stuffed bears on warm days

Thanks to the EVG reader for this photo on Third Street between Avenue A and Avenue B

It's hot out

NYC is under a heat advisory today.

Per the Weather Channel: "Use air conditioning to stay cool at home or go to a place with air conditioning. Check on vulnerable friends, family members, neighbors and stuffed bears."

Today in photos of a possibly abandoned stuffed lion on St. Mark's Place

Between First Avenue and Second Avenue... no word just yet what the lion used to be attached to... but we're on it, at least until lunch...

Abandoned slice of stuffed pizza doesn't seem to mind being abandoned

Meant to post these photos earlier… they are from last night on Avenue B near East 11th Street. We do not know what happened here… but based on the pizza's goofy grin in the top photo, all seems to be well (all things considered)…

Anyway, not nearly as sad as abandoned stuffed teddy bears

Free monkey business

Spotted on Avenue A near East 14th Street this morning by stickmanpk.

Not sure if this is such a good strategy by Fresh Direct — expanding their offerings while, at the same time, giving the stuff away.

Who in the duck would do this?

Wow. The fact that someone would do this to a stuffed animal is even worse than that headline.

This is via @edenbrower, who has requested an exorcism here at the lovely Saint Stanislaus Bishop And Martyr Roman Catholic Church on East Seventh Street.

And this is not the first time mischief makers have made mischief here.

Headless giraffe makes another baffling appearance around 5th and B

As we understand it, there have been numerous recent sightings of this headless stuffed giraffe around the vicinity of East Fifth Street and Avenue B... the creature, who desperately needs a nickname, a branding campaign and more social media exposure (for starters, at the least), was spotted last night outside Bloom 62, Ben Shaoul's nursing home-turned upscale rental.

The headless stuffed giraffe likely represents the duality of man, though, as of our press time, that hadn't been confirmed.

Heartless acts: Down-on-its-luck stuffed animal unstuffed, stuffed in trash

We noted this rather sad scene yesterday at Cooper Union... along the East Sixth Street side...

Flashback!

Well, prepare yourself for this. Spotted in the trash outside Sunny & Annie's on Avenue B and East Sixth Street this morning...

The Bowery Bears (and Bunnies)

On Wednesday, BoweryBoogie noted the arrival of some blindfolded bunnies and bears hanging from power lines on the Lower East Side... He traced these to artist Manny Castro and electronic dance duo HeartsRevolution ...

Anyway, here's another batch from this past week on the Bowery at Great Jones...
