Felix Roasting Co. opening an outpost on Astor Place

The coming-soon signage is up for Felix Roasting Co. at 740 Broadway on Astor Place. (Thanks to Steven for the pic and a tipster for the heads up on the signage.)

The first Felix arrived on Park Avenue South in 2018, with another outpost following in 2020 on Greene Street. Google describes the place this way: "Stylish venue offering specialty coffees, toasted snacks & pastries amid refined surrounds."

And as Eater put it:
In short, Felix Roasting Co. is the kind of coffee shop that New Yorkers love to love or love to hate, depending on who's being asked. Yet despite everything, it also serves one of the city's best cups of espresso, even if it comes served in a wine glass with tonic water.
The Astor Place Felix has a June opening, and it replaces the Blue Bottle outpost that seemed to open and close about 10 times during the pandemic.

Another cup of Non-Stylish coffee for me please. Thanks!

It's a stylish venue, James. People like to spend time in nice places, which is why businesses invest in making their places nice. It's amazing how many commenters here manage to turn everything negative and are so anti-business.

Not anti-business in the least. Just dont care for pretention and 'tudes.

The prices here are more than reasonable. So the EVGrumps complain that "it's too nice/stylish". Unbelievable!

Awww.(Hands extended) Still friends?

What in the hell? Stylish coffee? Seems a culture more appropriate for the UES, not in the EV. But at least it's a unique concept. I'll stop by out of curiosity and for aesthetics. Might be too high of a price point tho.

I'm pretty excited to try this out. I love coffee so much, in all its forms. We can surely accommodate shitty cups, classic cups, AND fancy-pants cups in this city.

P.S. I do like the idea of getting to throw on some opera gloves to have a bit of a refined moment without having to go outside the EV. The agoraphobe in me loves that. Plus I think this would be an interesting date destination.
