Stickers have also been spotted with the message: "Transplants are no longer adapting to NYC. NYC is adapting to the transplants."
There's also a "locals buy locals" variation, as seen on Avenue A and Fifth Street (pic by Stacie Joy). We're not sure who's behind these.
We posted the graffiti and stickers to our Instagram Stories, and the unsolicited responses poured in. Roughly 80% sided with the "transplants must adapt" message — instead of treating the city like an extension of campus life.

Funny. Transplants Must Adapt is what the blood and soil conservative Republicans have been saying about immigrants, in general, for years, which is something liberal New Yorkers once found appalling.
"Transplants are no longer adapting to NYC. NYC is adapting to the transplants." - That's at least 15, or even 20 years too late.
And they're not treating the city like an extension of campus life, but as an extension of their flyover states homes. Much worse.

Bogus analogy. Blood and soil is a 200% racist creed which defines the MAGA world. Jeremiah Moss in his book and at his social media accounts has been posting about the suburbanization of the city that has been relentless for years now. That's what these tags are all about, it's not about "immigrants" MAGA troll.
From JM: ""Yunnie" stands for Young Urban Narcissist. An obvious play on the outmoded "yuppie," this neologism was my earlier attempt to grasp a mass cultural shift currently generating and feeding on tremendous change in New York City--and much of the country.
While "yuppie" was aimed at professionals, describing people of a certain socioeconomic bracket, "yunnie" described a characterological type."
