Seeing this warning sign in Tompkins Square Park — "Lisa Cheats at Cornhole" — reminds us just how safe this neighborhood used to be, when things like this (and pickleball players taking more than 10 seconds to serve) didn't happen.😔

Today in sidewalk sarcasm

As seen on Avenue B between Second Street and Third Street... where not everyone appreciates @7soulsdeep's soulful-ish sidewalk messages such as, "New York isn't the same without you."

Here, someone responded: "Well, thank you. I just robbed 5 people and was sorta feeling bad about it till now."

Some happy campers on 10th Street now as NYPD relocates RV

The camper that had been parked on 10th Street east of First Avenue is no longer on the block.

Updated 11:30 a.m.

The NYPD explains what happened in a tweet... As noted here, some unhappy residents who lived nearby painted messages outside (and on) the camper late last week with directives such as "move" ... "leave" ... and "Camper time to go."

Those messages remain on the sidewalk.

A message for the camper on 10th Street

Photos by Steven

You've likely noticed the camper that has been parked on 10th Street just east of First Avenue.

Apparently, people who live nearby have had about enough of the camper. Some messages have arrived outside (H/T simcitymayor!) ...
... and on the camper itself...

Letters

You've likely seen an array of letters posted around the East Village... the top one (thanks Stacie Joy!) is taped to the bear outside Josie's on Sixth Street between Avenue A and Avenue B... the one below (thanks Robert Miner!) is outside Ninth Street Espresso at Avenue C... (you may click on the images for more detail)...
There are other variations, like one outside Mast on Avenue A and another near Juicy Lucy the next block up the Avenue. Some namecheck East Village businesses and at least one is signed by EVQ (East Village Queen).
