EVG reader Cynthia Reynolds shares these photos from Fifth Street between Second Avenue and the Bowery this morning, where someone took the time to warn the owners of two parked cars that a man was on the pavement directly in front of — or behind — their vehicles.
Fortunately, by the time Cynthia took these, the man had apparently moved along...

Citi Bike tags, stickers call out NYC 'transplants'
In recent weeks, stenciled letters reading "transplants must adopt" have appeared on Citi Bike docking stations around the East Village.
Stickers have also been spotted with the message: "Transplants are no longer adapting to NYC. NYC is adapting to the transplants."
There's also a "locals buy locals" variation, as seen on Avenue A and Fifth Street (pic by Stacie Joy). We're not sure who's behind these.
We posted the graffiti and stickers to our Instagram Stories, and the unsolicited responses poured in. Roughly 80% sided with the "transplants must adapt" message — instead of treating the city like an extension of campus life.

Seeing this warning sign in Tompkins Square Park — "Lisa Cheats at Cornhole" — reminds us just how safe this neighborhood used to be, when things like this (and pickleball players taking more than 10 seconds to serve) didn't happen.😔

Today in sidewalk sarcasm
As seen on Avenue B between Second Street and Third Street... where not everyone appreciates @7soulsdeep's soulful-ish sidewalk messages such as, "New York isn't the same without you."
Here, someone responded: "Well, thank you. I just robbed 5 people and was sorta feeling bad about it till now."
