Wyatt will pay you to move your car on 9th Street

Photos by Steven

There are posted film notices for tomorrow on Ninth Street between First Avenue and Second Avenue for something titled "Zoo."

Later, on the south side of the street, someone (Wyatt? Wyatt's assistant?) placed flyers on several cars...
... offering the owners 60 bucks if they move their cars by 5 a.m. tomorrow...
How about it?

Flyer alert: More about Love and Sex on 10th Street

Last week, we noted the flyers spotted near and on 10th Street about an "acclaimed production company" that is seeking individuals and/or couples who live or work on 10th Street "for an upcoming documentary series on the modern dating landscape."

While there were those among us who thought this might be in the "guy-looking-for-a-girlfriend" guy orbit, we are assured that this is quite legitimate.

So far, there has been a lot of interested participants contact the number after seeing the flyers (and our post!), according to a rep for the production.

"The flyer was intentionally a little vague to not reveal too much about the project — it's in early stages of development with Imagine and Talos Films," the rep said.

They're now actively casting for the documentary series that seeks to "authentically capture love and sex across 10th Street."

"We’re looking for folks from all walks of life, in all kinds of stages of partnership," the rep said.

And why this street?

"We picked 10th Street because it’s such a culturally and socioeconomically diverse cross section of the city, the battleground of the gay rights movement, and — anecdotally — a place where a lot of hookups/breakups/makeups take place!"

Date movie: A documentary offer for people who live or work on 10th Street

From the Random Flyer Department on 10th Street... an "acclaimed production company" is seeking couples who live or work on 10th Street "for an upcoming documentary series on the modern dating landscape."

No idea if these are legit... or why they didn't start on First Street for a more orderly sequel possibility.

Your chance to own part of an East Village bar

You've probably noticed these flyers around the past few days ... asking if you'd like to INVEST IN AN EAST VILLAGE BAR. (I saw the flyers on Third Avenue, Second Avenue and Avenue A...)

The link goes to an IndieGoGo page with details on the crowdfunding campaign.

Be an Influencer
You walk in to the bar, point to your photo on the owners wall, and treat your friends to rounds of drinks. Participate in shaping what the bar serves, the events it plans, the specials it offers. You help make the bar you want to hang out in.

Have Fun
The success of every bar is in the service (which already is stellar) and the patrons, who make the experience that much more enjoyable for each other. You aren't responsible for the management of the place, your job is to show up, be friendly, and have fun.

Keep the East Village Great
We're talking about an established pub in the heart of the East Village, just off Avenue A, that can become the living room for you and your friends. Contribute today, and take advantage of the perks forever. Help keep the East Village locally owned, and avoid the 'Bleeckerization' of this great neighborhood.

If adequate funding levels are not achieved, you will be refunded 100% of your investment, guaranteed.

Depending on your contribution (starting at $50), you'll have your framed photo on the owner's wall and receive various drink specials and a bar T-shirt. For $100, you get to represent the bar before Community Board 3. (Kidding!)

The person behind the campaign is looking to raise $200,000. At last look, they were at $1,800.

EVG reader Camila spotted this flyer on the corner of Houston and the Bowery...

Who's gonna email them and fork over a $1???

Perhaps in time for the premiere of "The Force Awakens" ... flyers announcing a Chewbacca Roar Contest have been spotted around... this one is on the Bowery at East Houston.

Apparently these flyers are a staple on or near April Fool's Day in various cities and states... calls to the the number in suburban Boston on this flyer eventually lead to a voice-mail where there isn't any mention of a Chewbacca Roar Contest.

Flyer campaign accuses landlord of driving nice car, not making repairs in apartments

Someone has created a flyer campaign about Citadel Property Management Corp., whose office is on East 13th Street between Avenue A and Avenue B…

Per the flyers, which are along Avenue A between East 13th Street and East 14th Street, the president of the company drives a nice car… while some (or one?) of the units at 513 E. 13th St. is in need of repairs (hard to tell from the black-and-white photocopies…).

According to the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development, there are several new complaints (from the same unit) at No. 513 about broken windows, peeling plaster and a roach infestation, among other things.

Citadel's East Village rentals also include 239 E. 14th St., 208 E. 13th St., and 533 E. 13th St., according to Streeteasy.

Something is Missing

Spotted on Third Avenue near East 14th Street… If you'd like to read it… click on the image below for a better view of the copy…

As the flyer on Third Avenue and East 10th Street says, Hey ladies!

Didn't know there was a market for unwanted new and pre-owned Lululemon apparel and accessories. Will have to go through my closet!

Man new to area looking for a friend via flyers

@CuriousJLuis spotted this flyer yesterday on East Sixth Street near Avenue A.

Say hello to Charles.

According to the flyer:

"I'm sick and tired of this. I just want a friend.

No, not even that. Just someone who can tolerate me for 10 minutes."

I just moved into the area on 6th and A.

I'll be around the neighborhood, but I work a really demanding job as a consultant, so I won't always be available. Weekends work best if you put it on my calendar.

If you see me, please, just say hi."

We don't know if this is a gag of some kind … or a legitimate attempt to make some friends. (There isn't any contact info here.) Someone who looked like Charles was spotted hanging the flyer.

[Updated] About the guy looking for a girlfriend

Well, these flyers are everywhere. We planned on ignoring them, figuring it was some kind of wacky marketing campaign or something really stupid. Stupider.

But apparently they are for real, or at least that's what he wants people to believe.

Here is WCBS with the story:

Dan Perino is on a mission. He’s looking for a girlfriend in a non-traditional way, plastering posters all over Manhattan.

“I’m not desperate. This is a better way to meet women. I want to find a more meaningful relationship,” Perino said.

Sick of the singles scene, the 50-year-old is taking his search seriously. He started putting the fliers up and in just hours he said he received more than 100 calls — some genuinely interested, others thinking it’s a joke.

He said he plans on having a girlfriend within a week. The above story is from Friday. So, by this Friday... we'll have some more summer loving!

And then there is this award-winning bit of video...

Updated 1:45 p.m.

Right! An EVG Facebook friend reminded us that he was looking for a film role a few weeks back. What will he be looking for next?

Sunday, February 2, 2014

Someone taped a handful of the above flyers to various trees and light poles along St. Mark's Place between Second Avenue and First Avenue … we blocked out the photos of the woman accused of being a home wrecker …

In any event, someone has ripped down the flyers, which look homemade legit and not some kind of wacky marketing campaign…

Accusations on Avenue A

EVG reader Ron Z. spotted this on the M14 stop on Avenue A and 11th Street this morning... We're not sure how widespread this flyer campaign is. Have you seen these?

In any event. We blocked out the man's face ...

Why you shouldn't be outraged at Kelly Donahue for refusing to give up her seat

EV Grieve reader Creature spotted this flyer on Avenue B at Fifth Street... then another one a few blocks away...

As you might expect, the sign is a fake... it's part of an ad campaign for a book out next month titled "I Hate You, Kelly Donahue."

Large warehouse wanted

So we spotted this on the plywood along Third Avenue between 13th Street and 12th Street Saturday...

Intrigued, we emailed the address listed...

Turns out the people behind Unicorn Meat NYC — "an underground, art based nightlife production group" are looking for permanent space. Per the Unicorn Meat website:

We will fill the walls and ceilings with LED art and 3D projection. It is our belief that people controlling the underground nightlife scenes in NYC are simply not doing what they could be doing with warehouse space. It's our dream and passion to bring you an eclectic and electronic based space that will blow you away and take you to another place.

In the email, Unicorn's Alex Kay wrote, "We get large multi-thousand person crowds and need to be able to put them somewhere we can run. Venues in NYC are difficult to work with so we are starting our own."

"We put some of the signs up in ... Williamsburg and they disappeared. Why? I believe they were taken down by brokers who don't want us going around them. The one in the city stayed up."

Actually, as of Sunday, someone had removed this poster too. Or maybe someone wanted a closer look at the American Pole Fitness Championship crotch.

The 'NYPD Rapists' flyer campaign

Someone has been posting these flyers of Kenneth Moreno and Franklin Mata, the two NYPD officers acquitted last week of charges of raping an East Village woman.

I spotted the flyers along the Bowery and Second Avenue... these were outside the Mars Bar...

The Voice has more on Friday's protest downtown. The Post has the latest ugly turn in the case today, in which the ex-wife of Moreno calls the rape accuser "a money-grubbing liar."

Breaking: It's Election Day!

Remember, if you don't like the results of today's elections, then you can also help develop a new political party... A reader sent along a shot of one of the detailed, tiny-type flyers that seem to be everywhere, such as this one on Houston and First Avenue...

The discussion is Thursday night at the Ukrainian Restaurant on Second Avenue...
