Management at the new office building at 1 St. Mark’s Place and Third Avenue have devised a way to keep people from tagging the incoming Sephora signage.
On Wednesday, workers arrived and started erecting barricades around the future Sephora.

The Sephora signage arrived
on Feb. 13. It was quickly tagged. We even got
a Gap reference to a late- 1980s St. Mark's Place mall pioneer.
The Paris-based beauty retailer
signed a lease last fall for 7,800 square feet of space at this gateway to the East Village.

The tagging is less offensive than the fence. Also, takes up less room on the sidewalk. That’s my two cents! :)
Whether you're a fan of Sephora or not, vandalism is not warranted nor cool. Time to grow up and get a life kids.

In contemporary terms it's vandalism. But it's really primal... like animals marking their territory. This is mine. I own it. Stay away. You belong to me. And it's generational. My building has been tagged for the last 50 + years. And will probably be tagged fro the next 50+ years. It's relentless and sad to say... the police don't care.
It would be fun to tag this joint using lipstick. Get creative…
Why is there not a high penalty for destroying neighbors home and places of business and public spaces don't these vandalists now they will be judged for there works up lawlesses on the day of judgment

I am A-OK with Sephora being tagged!!!!! I do not welcome this store! But the neighborhood has changed so much, I'm sure the homogeneous mainstream people here now don't care as shown by the previous comments. :(
