Where (and where not to) view the fireworks along the East River tonight

In case you are interested in watching the 50th Macy's 4th of July Fireworks® tonight... top Insta post shows you where you can go.

And like last year, a perfectly good spot for the public to watch the fireworks in a public park, the newly opened section of East River Park over the Delancey Street pedestrian bridge, is CLOSED.

So they spent years developing that part of the esplanade and they're closing it to the public? Why? Seems to be a NYPD directive, any more info? Is this corruption dressed up as safety?

Mind blowing how people just sit back and accept this no questions asked. No wonder this city is the way it is.

NYPD ordered East River Park and Pier 42 closed for the day. Why? Because they can.

I spoke with the NYPD at the 7th Precinct (unofficially) and they said that they expected too many problems with allowing LES people onto the East River Park as in late night BBQ parties with loud music and beer and hard liquor and smoking weed with fights breaking out which would require a huge NYPD presence to stop and then remove the people from the park. That is just life in the LES.
