After reading this, the guilty party said, 'Woo is me'

A reader sent along this Urban Etiquette Sign from an Avenue C building...

It reads in part...

Dear new residents of [redacted] Avenue C:

This neighborhood has existed and co-existed since long before you moved in.

It is a diverse neighborhood of people who are not tolerant of entitled, suburban, college frat behavior, and your disrespect and ignorance of your neighbors and the area you have chosen to live is obnoxious and disturbing — and it will not be tolerated.

THIS IS NOT YOUR FRAT HOUSE, A DORM, OR YOUR PARENTS BACKYARD IN CONNECTICUT. SHOW SOME RESPECT.

An occasional, respectful party is acceptable — storing kegs in the back and having obnoxious post-grads running rampant around the building with frat-letter flags on their head is not.

Despite Urban Etiquette Sign, trash still piles up in tree house living room

Thought we'd check in on the tree house living room over here on First Avenue near East 14th Street ... An Urban Etiquette Sign recently appeared asking people to be respectful of the space and not leave trash around... And..?

San Francisco Giants celebration tree mended on Second Avenue

On Friday, we noted the Urban Etiquette Sign that an EVG reader spotted on Second Avenue near 14th Street... outside Bay Area-rooting sports bar Finnerty's. Some fans in celebration mode apparently broke off some branches...

A commenter later noted: "I see the broken limbs have been removed and damaged area sealed. Fair enough."

And here's a photo of the tree now...

San Francisco Giants fans apparently damage East Village tree during Game 5 celebration

The San Francisco Giants beat the Cincinnati Reds yesterday to advance in the National League playoffs. The Giants became the first NL team to overcome a 2-0 deficit in the division series.

Which brings us to this Urban Etiquette Sign an EVG reader spotted on Second Avenue near 14th Street... near Bay Area-rooting sports bar Finnerty's.

Per the sign:

"This tree destroyed by band wagon S.F. Giants fans celebrating Game 5 at curiously S.F. affiliated bar 'Finnerty's.' Hint: Good marketing, nothing more. Not winning awards for neighbor of the year. Get this tree some Melky Juice stat!"

(Melky Juice? The sign leaver knows his or her baseball...)

And here is the damage the bandwagon fans apparently caused ...

Neighbor here will likely be rooting for the Nationals or Cardinals now.

A note for real-estate brokers on East 12th Street

"The tenants of this building are not responsible for helping you get into the building or assist you with renting apartment... Therefore, it is unacceptable for you to ring random buzzers all night. It is disturbing to residents who have an expectation of being left along by strangers."

EVG reader Ryan spotted this sign on Seventh Street in front of Big Bar this past weekend...

"Douche bag

Your bike is in the basement of 'big bar' because they are very kind. Stop being a dick + locking your bike to our bikes."

'RESPECT this gesture'

Spotted on East Seventh Street. I keep reading this and don't think I totally get it either. I should have taken a photo of the look too.

Please do not throw bottles out your windows and into the courtyard

A reader brought our attention to this sign hanging on a Jakobson Properties building on East 12th Street... The sign is dated Oct. 31... not new, though still entertaining.
