Report: Citi Bike to test a valet service on Avenue A and East 7th Street

[Worst PhotoShop ever by EVG]

That's the word from amNY:

Citi Bike is taking a page from restaurants and hotels by testing a valet service at a dock where people can avoid the frustration of trying to find a place to park their ride.

The weeknight valet service, which will launch at a dock on Avenue A and 7th Street on Monday, will be manned with at least two employees who will remove bikes once the dock fills up so that a couple of spaces will be always be available from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Perhaps this will help you avoid doing the "checking-all-of-the-Citi Bike-stations dance."

[Updated] Report: LIRR will ban booze during SantaCon, though not before it

The Long Island Rail Road has instituted a 24-hour booze ban from noon Saturday through noon Sunday that overlaps with SantaCon, DNAinfo reports.

"We do it based on experience, based on when we've had difficulties….when we're going to be inundated with a lot of people under 21, or maybe just over 21, where they've created problems in the past," LIRR spokesman Salvatore Arena told DNAinfo.

Of course, this year, SantaCon starts at 10 a.m. in Tompkins Square Park... meaning SantaConners arriving via LIRR in the early morning won't be impacted by the ban. So there can be booze business as usual. No word about New Jersey Transit or Metro North.

Metro North and New Jersey Transit have also issued a temporary ban on alcohol this weekend, per Business Insider.

MTA police officers will be patrolling Grand Central Terminal, Penn Station, and other stations, it said. They will confiscate illegal liquor, and those caught drinking can face fines up to $50 or 30 days imprisonment.

Report: Tom Cruise sells (one of) his East Village homes

Through the years, for some reason, we've noted that Tom Cruise has a place (or five!) in the American Felt Building on East 13th Street. This afternoon, The Real Deal reports that the actor is in contract to sell a condo here for $3 million. He bought the 2,200-square-foot apartment back in 1984.

Per The Real Deal:

The two-bedroom unit features a state-of-the-art gym which could double as a third bedroom. Though the 12-story building is known for its loft-like ceilings, the ceilings in Cruise’s 10th-floor unit have been lowered to nine feet, though it was unclear why.

Any ideas why he would lower the ceiling?

Anyway! We had some good times here...

Not sure how much he owns the the building. Page Six reported several years ago that he owns five places here. Other sorta famous people who lived in the American Felt Building have included Fab Moretti, Bret Easton Ellis and one of those guys from the Black Keys.
