I think the rumours are true. Hell is retaking the Earth and the East Village is the epicenter. I believe its attributable to the rude four eyed ugly chick bartender at 7B.
I used to love 7B, but now these hipsters and yunnies have taken over the place. Now the staff caters to them. If East Village is the epicenter of the earth, then 7B must be its gateway.
About a year ago, I was standing in front of 7B talking to Mrs. Grieve on a smoking break. This rather obnoxious group of tourists walked up and asked a 7B regular where McSorley's was. Without blinking, he helpfully walked a few steps toward the curb and pointed east -- "just keeping walking on 7th Street until you get to Avenue D. You can't miss it."

By the way
Here, you'll find things that you may or may not be interested in about the East Village and other parts of New York City. Appreciating what's here while it's still here. Remembering what's no longer here. Wishing some things weren't here that are here.

You sure they just gave the wrong way? McSorleys is on 7th Street, just in the opposite direction.
