Wedding notes

There was a wedding celebration behind 206 Avenue B on Saturday evening. And the couple-to-be were kind enough to leave notes about it on surrounding apartment buildings. They explained why the celebration was at 206 Avenue B: "We met there exactly four years ago so we decided to have this special day there."

Plus...

"Please be understanding in case it gets a little late and loud (but please know that there will be a lot of older people and kids so it won’t be a crazy party)."

Feel free to contact us in person if you have any concerns…"

Yeah I live right next door to them. My kitchen overlooks their backyard. It was actually pretty quiet and I thought the note was cute, heart and all. Nice to see some people still have some manners.

Thanks, anon. I agree with you... I appreciate people taking the time to be considerate. Too often it seems to be in short supply these days...

this was a sweet thoughtful note that deserved the good vibes and tolerance it asked for. However, it was also an exception. That courtyard space is often home to parties that remain seriously loud until 4am (they have a commercial vibe to it as well--is it a rental space?).

I've lived in the EV for 22 years and am largely supportive of and tolerant of nightlife but an outdoor space blasting tunes (largely bad ones)is annoying and selfish. You know if they even shifted the decibel level down at 2am I wouldn't loathe them so much but the unthinking entitlement that party gives off is plain obnoxious.
