Late-morning red-tailed hawk watch

Amelia and Christo's three red-tailed offspring this summer remain very active in Tompkins Square Park (despite the heat index!).

One of them today took a moment from its busy schedule to pose for EVG readers.

Goggla has a lot more photos and updates on the hawk family here.

Thanks for the wonderful hawk photos, Googla! They make me happy each time I see them in EVG. :)

Thanks and lets all pray that all of them remain healthy

Beautiful birds, beautiful photos! Hope the hawks stay healthy and that this heat/haze doesn't damage them.

In 1971/2 I lived at 440 E 9th, above Garfinkel’s Surgical Supply. Fifth floor walk up in a building of Ukrainian and Russian elderly. Walked past E 9th St Bakery every morning on way to work in West Village. Every now and then one of the brothers would slip me a free Danish.
I suggest reading “Once there was a village” by Kapralov. The times just before mine.
