Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey" is now playing on three screens at Village East by Angelika on Second Avenue at 12th Street.
One of those screenings is in the theater's 440-seat Jaffe Theater, where the film is being presented in 70mm.
The 100-year-old Jaffe Theater — originally built as the Yiddish Art Theatre — is one of the city's few venues equipped to screen 70mm films.
Also, info perhaps for next week: Angelika members get 50%-off tickets on Tuesday. Free to join.
And the theater's Instagram account shared the film's end journey to the East Village...

The building's cornerstone says May 23, 1926 - so it's already MORE THAN a hundred years old.
I read the book in high school back in the 90's. Man, what an epic story. Looking forward to seeing this on the big screen.
wellll...I took my nephew here to see an alleged "70mm" screening of '2001 A Space Odyssey" - NOT!! - it was a scratched up 35mm print. nephew was NOT impressed...
