Holy Cow has closed its outpost on the southeast corner of 14th Street and Avenue B.
The burger joint at 600 E. 14th St. had been dark in recent weeks, and now the "Holy" has been removed from the signage, leaving just "Cow Burgers" above the storefront.
Holy Cow debuted here in the fall of 2024, taking over from M & J Asian Cuisine, which had been at the corner for 10 years.
The company's online ordering page still lists the East Village location and hours, so there's no official word on the closure just yet (other than Google's Permanently Closed).
Perhaps the missing "Holy" is official enough.
The burger chain started on the Lower East Side in 2018... the brand's other outposts remain open in the tri-state area.

I was excited for this place, but went once and….meh.
I passed by it a few weeks ago and they had a sign up that said the city shut them down for not paying their gas bill. They had taken it down by the evening.
This has been my burger experience. I do like george motz, almost all others are interchangeable with variations on a theme.
Kind of a depressing place. Will not be missed.
I went in once and there was nothing green on the menu, and no vegetables at all unless you count french fries and ketchup.
Did not become a customer.

They're all the same unfortunately. So unless it's a unique twist to it and far beyond good (price point as well)... Won't last
Tough corner. Maybe something nostalgic like a bank ATM can take its place.
You want the best burger good butcher and pick ups some grass fed organic ground beef and save yourself $50. No restaurant will put the care into making something as you can do yourself.

Funny, since the City doesn't collect gas bills.
Unfortunately Hamburger America is pretty far away from the neighborhood.
Have you tried Fat Ronnie's on 6th Ave? They passed hefty samples in the street and we couldn't believe the high quality of the beef!
