We continue the East Village Christmas Holiday Tree Tour... Trees arrived yesterday on 14th Street and First Avenue... More should arrive soon, taking the stands past O'Hanlon's...

...and on Houston outside the Whole Foods (these seem to be the priciest around here...)

Meanwhile, we await the arrival of the trees outside St. Mark's Church in-the-Bowery. But! One development here. The Holiday Hovel is in place.

We hear that this struture will remain after the holidays... hitting the market at $2,950 (no fee). Newly renovated featuring: bleached-plank hardwood floors, recessed lighting, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, cherry wood cabinets, crown and baseboard moldings, with marble bathrooms. Washer & dryer in unit. This hovel has never been lived in!! Hurry!! Won't last!!

In another month, the tree you select will be an excellent fire hazard... Enjoy the holiday season!

Maybe this bar isn't the worst of the worst. Maybe this bar isn't terrible beyond terrible. Maybe this bar doesn't smell like shit, piss, and vomit. But it is overcrowded. There are drunk girls attempting to grind of drunk guys who are fortunate enough to use the wall to keep their balance as their groins are gyrated in drunken swirls."

Joe's Bar on East Sixth Street had just reopened... there was the DOH visit... and ongoing health issues for Joe.

Several readers pointed out that Joe's was closed again on Tuesday and Wednesday nights (and last night, though many places were closed for the holiday) ... We hear that Joe might be turning over management of the bar to the staff...

In which a film crew calls your wife a 'stupid bitch' on Avenue A

Well then. A pleasant Thanksgiving to you too!

So we asked RyanAvenueA for a little background on this incident last night. Ryan and his wife were having dinner at an Avenue A restaurant. There were cones blocking the west side of Avenue A along (from Fourth Street on down) to restrict parking. There weren't any signs indicating what this was for, but all the cones were labeled "MC," Ryan said. A van was parked there, with an extension cord coming out of the rear passenger door that plugged into the panel at the base of a lamp post.

A little later, Ryan's wife goes outside for a cigarette. She asked crew members what they were doing, and they said they were "securing the location" for "A Gifted Man." To which she asked why they needed all the parking now. She said they should have permits up if they want to block the parking. They told her to get lost.

"As we walk out to go home, she slipped a little on the wet pavement, and the bigger buy (there's a few of them) goes, 'I hope you fall on your fucking head you stupid bitch.' I turn around and ask him what the fuck that was for, and he says I should ask my wife. He starts walking away and I ask him directly if they are there filming the CBS show 'A Gifted Man.' He just stares at me, and I repeat my question. He finally says yes and walks away."

As of this morning, the crews weren't set up yet for filming, though someone had posted permits.
