Found: Adorable kitty

Earlier today, a couple found this kitten on Seventh Street near Avenue D. Per the reader: "She's surprisingly clean for a street cat, which is why I'm wondering if she just escaped."

I think it's the Fugitive cat, in search of the elusive one-armed mouse. (And naturally the kitty is a Quinn Martin production.)

How weird. I was playing with this cat today and took a picture of it. It was staying around a particular building, so I assumed it lived there.

Is she resting her little paw-paw on someone's foot? Oh my goodness, she is just too precious for words. I hope she can be reunited with her owner/s (unless they are jerks who abandoned her, in which case congrats on you new cat, Thatguy510!)

sometimes people "rescue" cats because they think they're abandoned, when really they are city indoor/outdoor cats, mousers who live in basements, etc. she may not have escaped at all.

Cute as can be---btw--Harry the missing chihuahua is back home after some adventures in the hood and beyond.

Jeremiah -
We are aware that some people care for outdoor cats around the city, however this poor thing had no collar, was really underweight, and had ear mites. It might be someone's outdoor cat, but if so, they were barely caring for it.

We're putting up signs in the neighborhood, and if someone comes forward, we'll give her back. But otherwise we'd rather her have a nice warm home than have some owner who lets her starve.

@Melanie: Good news about Harry! Do you know if he shares his meds?

Good for you Casey. I'm glad there's people like you in this world. Manhattan isn't a place for outdoor cats. And generally "mouser cats" are severely malnourished.

I recently found a little kitten that EVGRIEVE graciously made a post about and when nobody came forward in 2 weeks to claim him, I took him to the vet, tested him for felv/fiv, got him his shots and found him a nice home. If he was meant to be a deli cat, or was selfishly abandoned, he's much better off now.
