I'll admit it, I liked the Shack the few times I've had it. I am a sucker for a good straightforward burger, plus their crinkle-cut fries are irresistible. Even though "foodie" culture and attitude make me wanna hurl things out my third-floor window, I'd rather have this kind of douchebaggery in the neighborhood than more roving, drunk assholes of the bridge-and-tunnel/NYU/uptown kind. That's right, I just lump them all together. Not like there's a choice anyways. They're all here now and here to stay it seems. At least we can eat well.

We love tips
Have a story idea or tip about something happening in the East Village? Or maybe a photo? Or several photos? Or video! We'd love to hear about it. Or see it. Or something. Please go here to submit a tip.
By the way
Here, you'll find things that you may or may not be interested in about the East Village and other parts of New York City. Appreciating what's here while it's still here. Remembering what's no longer here. Wishing some things weren't here that are here.

I am shacked and saddened by these results.
Someone please tell the NYU kids to stop voting.
You know, it could be worse, macdonalds is prob worse than shake shack. At least Danny is a new yorker.
Maybe we could move Mars to TSP during the renovation.
