Next stop, Board of Elections!

Earlier today, we brought you the sad news that Cherries, the adult gift-and-DVD shop on St. Mark's Place, has closed.

Thanks to EV Grieve reader Don Stahl for this shot... in which workers are removing the "viewing booths."

And, despite that juvenile headline, there's no truth to the rumor that the Board of Elections in the City of New York bought the old booths.

(See more of Don's photos on his Tumblr here.)

I bet removing them was a bit of a sticky wicket.

It's difficult to tell from the photo, but it appears that the person moving that "used" Cherries viewing booth MAY NOT BE WEARING GLOVES!

May I also delicately suggest that the Prada wearing royals known to frequent the haberdashery next door might not miss the sight of certain Travel Size Fatty Patty Inflatable Love Dolls in the neighboring window as they alight and depart from their limousines?

Oh well, au revoir, mon Cherries!

Whoops, the royal emporium next door's a barbershop, not a haberdashery!

Now...where to get a used viewing booth for the rec room?

Is it safe to say that Cherries is now Bored of Erections?

If those booths could only talk they would probably say: OHHHHHHHHHHHH……where’s my tissue?

I went in there once looking for pasties for a costume and the clerk had no idea what I was talking about. "Paste? Paste?? PASTE???" Um...nevermind.
