Do you know who stole Westville East's bench?

Sorry... a little late on this one... just noticed these flyers in the window here on Avenue A at 11th Street... by now the bench has probably already crossed state lines...

Regardless, I'm going to need to know where each of you were on July 13 at this hour. Alibis please.

Also! While we're at it, did you steal this chair from outside the Cure Thrift Shop on East 12th Street? Someone did, according to the Cure blog.

July 13th, 5:18? Um, uh, I was tossing out my Christmas tree. Yeah, that's it.

I believe the New York Post warned us of the coming increase in crime.

Ha. True. They seem to warn us every six months or so.

Oh, and where were YOU on July 13?

I was busy selling stolen bikes to unsuspecting food delivery workers.

Ah, OK then. As you were!

That is some sweet chair, but what good is it without the desk? Where's that old can-do spirit? Criminals, this is the big town — show some enterprise.

i'm guessing hysteria at play here. first off cctv cameras don't record every second of video, they normally are programmed to record every other 2nd or 3rd second. it could be chance that that woman was shown in the video, yet later somebody not seen in the video stole it via entering from the bottom of the screen?

Yeah but if someone pulled the bench 2 seconds after her picture was snapped; pretty good chance you would want to talk to her, as she likely saw something.

i want to know where the proprietors of CURE are from. setting cool, carryable things outside without securing them? sounds like the work of naive suburbanites to me.

i'm not in favor of stealing by any stretch, but c'mon... 'situational awareness' people! where do you think you are???

Damn, I look like that woman. Or maybe did look like her before gaining a few pounds. But I don't wear a bun like hair style or fancy shoes. As far as the increase in crime, I told the parents of an NYU kid about it tonight as they looked at an apt in my friends building. They asked!!! I sent them to this blog to read about 11th street muggings, then suggested apartments further west.
