Wyatt will pay you to move your car on 9th Street

Photos by Steven

There are posted film notices for tomorrow on Ninth Street between First Avenue and Second Avenue for something titled "Zoo."

Later, on the south side of the street, someone (Wyatt? Wyatt's assistant?) placed flyers on several cars...
... offering the owners 60 bucks if they move their cars by 5 a.m. tomorrow...
How about it?

Last looks at today's 'Law & Order' shoot

Photos by Derek Berg

As we've been mentioning (here and here and here), "Law & Order" is back with new episodes after a 10-plus year absence from NBC (obvi reruns play every few minutes on cable).

Anyway! Today's filming action along Seventh Street between Avenue A and Avenue B saw the return of Anthony Anderson's Det. Bernard and newcomer Jeffrey Donovan as Det. Frank Cosgrove ...
The two were seen checking out a crime scene in a van...
"Law & Order" returns with its first episode on Feb. 24.

'Law & Order' makes triumphant return to East Village streets

If you've watched even 15 minutes of the Winter Olympics on NBC, then you've likely seen a promo for the return of the original "Law & Order" on Feb. 24.

Expect to see part of the East Village in the upcoming season. The L&O crew will be setting up for a shoot on Tuesday along Avenue A and various side streets between 10th and Third, per the posted signage. (And vehicles need to be moved tomorrow by 3. Photo below by Steven.)
This 21st season will once again feature Sam Waterston as Jack McCoy ... new cast members include Odelya Halevi as ADA Samantha Maroun, Jeffrey Donovan as Det. Frank Cosgrove and Hugh Dancy as senior prosecutorial assistant Nathan Price.

The Emmy-winning series originally ran for 20 seasons on NBC, from 1990 to 2010, with 456 episodes, spawning 36 four spinoffs and a movie. The franchise has been a regular presence on EV streets during its run.

And for some nostalgia, here's the intro to the "Law & Order" pilot episode from 1990...

Any signs of the East Village in the 1st trailer for Marvel's 'Hawkeye' series?

Back in December, crews for the new Disney+ series "Hawkeye" via Marvel Studios spent several days filming in the East Village (under the name "Anchor Point").

In the series, Jeremy Renner is reprising his Marvel Universe role as the superhero Hawkeye and his alter ego Clint Barton while Hailee Steinfeld plays his protégé Kate Bishop (also known as Hawkeye).

Anyway! The jocular first trailer for the eight-part series dropped today... looks solid, though there's no sign of the Discount Wine & Champagne's shop on 4th and A... or Key Food... but, at the 1:15 mark, that could be a building along Szold Place near 11th Street, a filming location...

"Hawkeye" debuts on Nov. 24.

And revisit Stacie Joy's photos from along Fourth Street and Avenue B here.

Lotto love for the East Village in this TV spot

Back on July 21, crews were filming scenes for a New York Lottery commercial in Tompkins Square Park and on 10th Street at Avenue A. (Top photo by Derek Berg!)

That TV spot for Twice Daily Draw Games is now out in the wild... (Thanks, Upper West Sider, for letting us know!) You can check it out below...

'Blue's' explosion!

You've likely seen these posted film notices along Avenue A and some side streets for something titled "BC&Y," which is obviously more gratuitous mayhem about dope fiends and Nazi vampires corrupting our youth and/or society. [Shaking fist at sky

Anyway, "BC&Y," turns out, is short for "Blue's Clues & You!" — "a live-action/computer-animated interactive educational children's television series." It's a reboot of the 1996 Nickelodeon series. (Thanks to Vinny & O for the pic and show title!)

Still, what's up with the blue puppy?

Expect some 'Meet Cute' moments this week

Filming notices are up along First Avenue and on parts of Sixth Street (and elsewhere?) for "Meet Cute," a romantic comedy starring Kaley Cuoco and Pete Davidson.

Per Deadline:
"Meet Cute" ... is a wildly inventive deconstruction of the romantic comedy built around the question: What would you do if you could travel to your loved ones’ past, heal their traumas, fix their problems, and change them into the perfect partner?
The production started filming in NYC this past week. Per these notices, the crews will be here this week Monday through Wednesday.

A warm and fuzzy shoot for NY Lottery in Tompkins Square Park

Crews were out this morning setting up for a New York Lottery commercial in Tompkins Square Park... Derek Berg got a look at the fuzzy numbers...
... we also heard they had an pre-Cemusa newsstand up on Avenue B at 10th Street...

Prepping for 'And Just Like That' on Avenue A

Text and photos by Stacie Joy

On Wednesday afternoon, I was visiting with Nancy Preston, owner of Milk Money Kitchens at 50 Avenue A. (Read more about Milk Money, which provides commercial kitchen rentals and consulting services for food businesses, right here.)

Preston was prepping her space between Third Street and Fourth Street for an HBO shoot for the "Sex and The City" revival titled "And Just Like That." (You probably noticed the production trucks along Avenue A!)

Featured in the spread for the assembled cast and crew: cupcakes named after the show's main characters. Today's scene involved cast members Kristin Davis and Mario Cantone (no Cynthia Nixon or Sarah Jessica Parker here). Executive producer Michael Patrick King was also on hand and took a moment to take a photo with Preston.

And thanks to Nancy for letting me stick around to watch the setup...

Christopher Meloni brings 'Law & Order' to Astor Place

"Law & Order: Organized Crime" has been filming along the Bowery, Cooper Square and Astor Place this week... Derek Berg spotted Det. Stabler, aka Christopher Meloni, near Fourth Avenue and Ninth Street prepping for a scene...
The last time we saw Meloni in the East Village, he was carrying a chainsaw on St. Mark's Place.

Back to the 1980s (again) for 'Russian Doll'

The cast and crew for the Netflix series "Russian Doll" were back in and around Tompkins Square Park yesterday.

As previously noted, season two will once again do a time warp, and there are scenes set in the 1980s

As such ... a few props from along Eighth Street between Avenue B and Avenue C courtesy of Stacie Joy...
... and in Tompkins Square Park... where the crew recreated a small segment of Tent City (and not the first production to recreate this time period)...

Thursday's parting shot

A moment today on a break during the "Russian Doll" shoot ... with new cast member Annie Murphy of "Schitt's Creek" fame... decked out to fit the 1980s time zone for season two of the Netflix series ... photo by Derek Berg (and we have more set pics TK)...

Gotta get up, gotta get out: 'Russian Doll' returns for Thursday filming

While there have been reports of "Russian Doll" (aka "Black Gumball") filming around the city, the East Village remains a prime locale for the time-looping Netflix series now shooting its second season.

Crews will be back tomorrow... with notices pointing to the east side of Avenue A from Fifth Street to 10th Street, the north side of Seventh Street from Avenue A to Avenue C and the north side of Eighth Street from Avenue B and Avenue C...
Thanks to Steven for the photos...

This week in East Village TV shoots

The NBC series "The Blacklist" makes a return to the neighborhood today...  the FBI show starring Megan Boone and James Spader — now in its eighth year — has filmed in and around Tompkins Square Park multiple times through the years (2014 ... 2017).

Signage today points to a shoot around (or in?) the Park... with production vehicles parked on parts of Seventh Street, Eighth Street, Ninth Street and 10th Street.

Also returning this week... "Russian Doll" (still going as "Black Gumball" on film notices)... looks to be filming in multiple locations... with notices up along several streets and avenues... including in and around St. Nicholas of Myra Orthodox Church on 10th Street and Avenue A...
... whose exterior doubled as Maxine's apartment building, where the party never stopped.

Aside from "The Blacklist" and "Russian Doll," here are the other TV shoots around here in 2021:

• "FBI
• "Pose"

That '80s show: 3rd Street all Russian Dolled up today for Netflix TV shoot

Crews for "Russian Doll" are along Third Street between Avenue A and Avenue B today (and tonight) ... where the block for the time-bending Netflix series (No. 2) was decked out for an early 1980s look.

Despite the leap back a few decades, series lead (and a writer and creator) Natasha Lyonne hasn't reverse aged a day!

EVG contributor Stacie Joy shared these photos...
... this is Jane's Exchange... doing duty as a Ukrainian market called Ukraine Grocer...
Apparently, only Book Club along here missed out on the time travel

And around the corner on Avenue B, Ben's Deli, which played a key role in season 1, got a new look...
Stacie reports that Lyonne was very friendly with the onlookers, who cheered her on as she smiled and waved ...
AND SPOILER!

Tuesday's parting shots

"Russian Doll" day continues... season 2 of the Netflix series is filming at multiple locations in the East Village, including at (in!) 7B/Vazac's/Horseshoe Bar ... which is going by Black Gumball for the shoot...
Film notices around the neighbor names this production as "Black Gumball."

And there'll be more filming tomorrow on Avenue B, Third Street and Houston, among other locales.

In a piece of casting news, Annie Murphy, who played Alexis Rose on "Schitt's Creek," will reportedly be in the second season of "Russian Doll."
