This past weekend outside Le Souk

On Christmas night, several readers passed along word of another party at Le Souk on Avenue B... Also, the empty storefront between Le Souk and Max's, which used to be an animal hospital, has been filled with people, but only late at night, a reader reports. On Saturday night, they moved a bunch of furniture/trash out of the old space and onto the street ...some of it went into Le Souk and some upstairs into the residential building that houses both locations. Yesterday morning, much of the stuff remained lined up on the sidewalk...

And later...

B Bar unveils new wall

Back in November, workers started building a fortress around putting in a new wall around the B Bar on the Bowery and Fourth Street... It's now looking closer to completion...

No word on the additional height of the wall that provided some hilarity this past summer.

... as the sign shows...

Don't know anything about this shop. Was she part of the Laila Rowe family? Wasn't open for very long...

Where is EVLazarus?

There is also non-weather-related news today.

On Friday night, we last spotted Jesus St. Lazarus chained to the fence along Avenue B at 13th Street.

We know of two people who are interested in owning the St. Lazarus. However, we we returned to see what was what with EVLazarus, he was gone...

Having tried to pick this thing up, we can assure you that it weighs a good offensive line or two. He couldn't have gotten too far... If you see him, then please let us know. Unless, of course, the statue was returned to where it was stolen found.
