Live music returning to the Continental (for at least one night)

And check out the lineup at the Rock 'n Roll reunion on Jan. 17...

Third Avenue near St. Mark's Place. I actually haven't been here since they renovated the space and did away with live music several years ago. As Trigger, the owner, said at the time: "When he first opened the club 15 years ago, the East Village was still the East Village. Now I’m surrounded by McDonald’s and Starbucks and K-Mart and I’m paying that level rent..."

What a great lineup! That should be an awesome evening of music. I see they spelled Mickey Leigh's name wrong though...

Good news, hope it's permanent.

While we're at it, bring back Coney Island High!

We should ask the question some day...what former EV place would you like to see return...

Really? Have you guys not seen this place on a weekend night? Are the bits and pieces of puke stuck and dried to the bottoms of your shoes from walking by not enough for you to completely avoid this place?

EVG, to answer "what former EV place would you like to see return"?...

If I had to pick just one, regardless of genre/type, it has to be SECOND AVE DELI!

(yeah it's up on 33rd now, but it's just not the same)

I hear you, T.E.V.B. I've never gone up to the new location....just could never do it..

I haven't been up there yet either. I'm torn. Maybe I should do takeout and then go to the Chase ATMs on 11th and eat my pastrami sandwich there?? Glumly, of course.

Bring back Stingy Lulu's in the same location.
Bring back the $5 dollar bag store--the Thursday egg store-the great pork store on 13th Street & First Avenue--all the old timers and some gruff.
