As you may have noticed, Avenue A between Ninth Street and 10th Street continues to be closed...
A worker on the scene told me there was a water main break... thanks to the EV Grieve reader for the above photo!

What was that huge DOT/MTA Emergency Command Center doing at the corner of 9th and 2nd Ave last night? I saw the guys working on the water main break and then kinda assumed the two groups of cops/emergency vehicles were related but DOT? MTA? The trucks on 9th and A were mostly DEP trucks. Was water running into the subway? But wait, there's no subway tunnel at 2nd and 9th.

Wow. That's my old house they are in front of....makes me homesick.
