I remember getting weak in the stomach just standing in line for tickets, the vision of the trailer in my head: that swimmer in the beginning, gulp gulp, getting pulled under. I went green even before going inside the theater.
And didn't swim in Long Island Sound for a couple summers after that......
Nothing beats Robert Shaw telling that awful story of the sailors being picked off one by one...followed by what it probably the most wrongful film death in movie history.

Heh... Sorry! I was going to recall the time that I saw this at the Jersey shore when I was XX years old, but then everyone would know how old I am!
The music still haunts me.
