I know someone who lives in that building and the apartments are really spacious and beautiful, though the character inside has been renovated out of them, but the building itself is pretty nice. The doormen are also particularly pleasant.
$1.9M is a lot of money for most of us, but I know people who have paid $2M for their homes and they are FAR from 'uber-rich'. They're just rich. Uber-rich people spend $2M+ on renovations.

watches? people still wear those? i see more and more people check time via their iphones or cell phones.
also, as for that view, it will be out of reach for everyone but the über-rich, much like central park becoming a gated community
