Wyatt will pay you to move your car on 9th Street

Photos by Steven

There are posted film notices for tomorrow on Ninth Street between First Avenue and Second Avenue for something titled "Zoo."

Later, on the south side of the street, someone (Wyatt? Wyatt's assistant?) placed flyers on several cars...
... offering the owners 60 bucks if they move their cars by 5 a.m. tomorrow...
How about it?

If this AC could talk

A discarded air conditioner as seen on Ninth Street... with an attached note sounding like a brutally honest online dating profile ...

I'm noisy,
  I'm heavy,
  but I work.
Take me home someone.
Thanks to Steven for the photos ... (and the AC is gone from this spot)...

Today in neighbors being neighborly

Spotted on a car windshield on Second Street at Avenue B:
"Just wanted to inform you that you have a rat in your car! Sorry about that : ( Your neighbors."
And it's not even the summer yet. By August the rat might be driving.

Thank you to Patty Rat for stopping to take the photo!

Graduation Day

Army & Navy Bags over at 177 E. Houston St. between Orchard and Allen is closed today... for a very good reason, per the signage...

Closed to attend daughter's graduation!

I like this touch – a simple way to humanize a business. Of course, you never want to get too cutesy about such notes.

In case you were thinking of taking this carpet back home

Second Avenue and Fifth Street this morning... a discarded carpet with a PSA... discovered by EVG reader Sam Teichman ...

"This is not one of those cool furniture street finds. To be clear it's a carpet riddled with dog poop & vomit. YOU DO NOT WANT THIS unless you particularly enjoy those scents, which to be clear, you shouldn't.

Also, the carpet was really ugly & in shit shape. Godspeed! X"

Noted

Spotted on 11th Street and Avenue A... and unrelated to this note, we've heard from several residents about someone stealing packages this holiday season from their lobbies/entryways...because residents either don't close the door behind them or buzz any rando in...

Noted

EVG reader Michael spotted this on the 14D today...

"Movies & Movie Stars Have Totally Ruined Us."

And someone added an arrow and a comment to this statement...

Feel free to discuss: Have movies and movie stars ruined us?

I blame Harold Lloyd.

A note for real-estate brokers on East 12th Street

"The tenants of this building are not responsible for helping you get into the building or assist you with renting apartment... Therefore, it is unacceptable for you to ring random buzzers all night. It is disturbing to residents who have an expectation of being left along by strangers."

Lost: An orange, white and blue glass pin (head of a man)

I've been thinking about this handwritten note that I saw attached to a building on Ninth Street near First Avenue yesterday ...

The writing reminds of a relative on my mom's side of the family... I recall him being lonely and sad all the time. I recall that he made little circles to dot his i's. I thought he did that to try to cheer himself up. I'd like to know more about the lost pin. I thought about calling the number several times, but couldn't do it.
