EV need to be charged in a garage and not on our city streets.

LOL, brilliant!

That is one creative way to charge up a car! I like the looping over tree branches, keeping the chord out of the way of pedestrians!

Concerned Citizen is a little harsh - try a little humor instead. (you might feel better.)

LOL @ concerned citizen. If you didn't notice, there are very few lots or garages in NYC, and they're insanely expensive. Public street parking is obviously needed.

I love it! NYC Rules!

I don't think the car can charge from a standard outlet. Something else is going on, maybe attempting to keep the battery warm? Odd.

You can charge from a standard outlet but it takes forever and a day

It can charge from a regular outlet, just very slowly

Yes, you can charge Teslas from a regular outlet, it’s just insanely slow.

but I guess my question still is: can you charge a Tesla from a standard outlet? If so, would it charge slowly or quickly?

Yes you can. It’s abysmally slow. It’s basically for emergencies. On a typical house outlet the car gains about 1 mile of range per hour.
