Cooper Union displays its cans

A reader walked by Cooper Union last night on the Seventh Street side and and did a double-take, so to speak... "I just had to go back and see this 20-footer hanging in the atrium."

Thank goodness this isn't hanging in the window on Avenue A and Third Street ...

That is a really striking photo.

They just put that there to make people think that they are cool. It's a common tactic in this day and age.

@Anon 11:02, Yes, Cooper Union is only trying to be cool. The fact that they have been around for 150 years providing a free Arts, Architecture, and Engineering education isn't enough.

They support the gentrification.

It's part of some kind of exhibit. Look down at the floor and there's all these cardboard cutout things. A tour was going through when I wandered by to check this out in person.

Of course it's an art show. Cooper Union has been instrumental in the redevelopment of Astor Place and it continues.
