We're told that the sidewalk bridge will remain in place for an unspecified period of time ... providing protection above the former Starbucks, which closed in April 2019

What was the reason for the scaffolding? There appeared to be no work being done.

It goes down and comes back up. I feel punished for wanting to walk to Astor Place these days - its all under scaffolding.
disgusting that the douche bar is allowed to use the sidewalk space outside of former Starbucks. Public sidewalk.
