Also on Avenue C: Caffe Pepe Rosso is for sale

That place on Avenue C and Eighth Street that used to be the great Hispanic bakery...

It's for sale via Tower Brokerage.

Pepe Rosso cut back their hours in February.

I've also heard the Pepe on Hudson Street is struggling. The one in Cobble Hill closed last year.

They have been trying to unload this place for a while now - at least a year.

Thanks for the comment, Brooks... Didn't even realize there was one in Cobble Hill.

I've been to the 8th/C spot a few times... they always had a decent breakfast deal... There seem to be people outside in the warm-weather months. Dunno how they can survive the winters, though.

I also recall hearing from people in the neighborhood who were upset the bakery at this spot closed... Perhaps there was some lingering resentment. I don't know. Just throwing it out there.

This terrible. I love this place. The brunch is tasty and great deal. The staff couldn't be nicer. It's a great neighborhood spot.

I miss Rebbecca's the bakery that used to be there they had the best fresh bread every morning. I liked mine with garlic and butter. I was upset when it closed. But I like Pepe I have eaten there a bunch great pasta dishes. It seems to do well in the spring and summer months but really slows down once you can't sit outside.

Thanks, Biggest Pants... I couldn't remember the name of the bakery!

That bakery had really good coffee but every time I went in there I got that plus egg and cheese on a roll and it was never the same price twice. And the woman behind the counter always used a calculator to add it up! I will never forget that about it.
