You don't know Parachute time? You're missing real fun... usually parents/caregivers grab bright-colored parachute over the heads of babies, waving it up and down, singing "if all the raindrops are gumdrops.." Then babies get on the parachute on the floor and adults circle around them singing "ring around a rosie" or some such. Yeah, it looks like a kind of cult, a bit hare krishna-ish I admit, but hey, we're moms....

We love tips
Have a story idea or tip about something happening in the East Village? Or maybe a photo? Or several photos? Or video! We'd love to hear about it. Or see it. Or something. Please go here to submit a tip.
By the way
Here, you'll find things that you may or may not be interested in about the East Village and other parts of New York City. Appreciating what's here while it's still here. Remembering what's no longer here. Wishing some things weren't here that are here.

Sounds like something they might have had back in the day at "The Anvil" or "The Sewer".

Ah! Thanks, Rmom... am not familiar with this ... We didn't have this when I when I was a kid. My mom did like Peter, Paul & Mary, though.
