Memorial grows for Christine Ebel outside Arcane on Avenue C


Here's the scene outside Arcane early this morning outside Arcane at 111 Avenue C. Arcane co-owner Christine Ebel reportedly died Tuesday night after falling from a balcony adjacent to the restaurant that she ran with her brother, Benjamin Alter.

This is so heartbreaking. It looks like there are fire escapes on the building next to the lot, not balconies. Has the full story come out as to how she fell? I just don't understand. It's so sad. She was so young and had so much more life to live.

Christine R.I.P. You were an amazing person who always lit up the room around you. Your friendly smile, infectious energy and soothing demeanor will certainly be missed. The East Village lost a beautiful soul.
