I agree with Kim, just the fact that you are out there capturing this relic from an older, more bohemian and unique New York gives me hope that not all has given way to the powers of darkness - oops, I mean NYU. Keep up the good work, EV, and you don't need to be in focus to do it.
Yes, it's a mall now - sadly. I find it quite ironic that many people here state how they miss the "old NYC" but represent the exact opposite. Complaining about liquor licenses and stopping businesses, only to have spaces become occupied by innocuous businesses like banks (theres on on almost EVERY corner NOW), Duane Reades/Rite Aid, Dunkin Donuts, etc etc.

I used to like your blog--but not anymore. Bob Arihood's photopgraphs of peopleand street scenes are impressive and well done--yours need work.
I'll say! I love Bob's work. He's a gifted photographer. No one does streetscenes as well as he does.
EV, you are grace under fire...
thanks for the photo catch - always a relief to see a well done-up freak strolling the neighborhood. makes one feel all is not all lost for all time.
xo

You do fine work here, and I'm glad Lady Gaga didn't flip you off!

"capturing this relic from an older, more bohemian and unique New York"
You don't walk down Ave A very often do you? ;) I see people this fun pretty regularly, especially later at night or closer to St. Marks.
