Vote or...

As a reminder, the early voting period runs though Sunday.

The hours:
  • Friday, Oct. 30 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, Oct. 31 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Sunday, Nov. 1 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Our local polling location, where Son of 7th took the above photo, is at Campos Plaza Community Center on 13th Street between Avenue B and Avenue C. We heard that there was a minimum wait today... and if anyone else wants to chime in about their early-voting experience in the comments...

We went to Campos at 11:30 Wednesday, hoping to get a jump on the 12:00 opening. So did about 300 other people...

No way I’m waiting on a line like that, let alone in the chilly drizzle. But we went back about 3 hours later, and the line was down to 10-15 people, we were done in 20 minutes max.

I voted at Campos on Tuesday and waited 45 minutes. The line moved quickly and the whole process was pretty easy.

The line moves quickly even though it's a bit long, don't take that as a reason to not get it done. 30 minutes in/out for me.

I went in the pouring rain at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday and there was no line at all. Everything went smoothly, esp. because I remembered to bring the little barcode sent out to each voter by the BOE,which sped up check in.

Voters and poll workers alike wore masks, and they had doors open both for ventilation and to prevent people from crossing paths when entering and exiting.

Would be great if someone would set up a Twitter account to update folks about the state of the line over the weekend.

I voted yesterday and it took 5 minutes. Go!

On Monday, at 220 Henry St. the lines were long but the process was quick and easy.
I brought my voting card (the one received in the mail) for them to scan. I think it may help speed things up.

The election staff at the Campos Plaza Community Center is doing a great job of handling the lines and keeping everybody moving -- good work by all!

I went at 7:30 on Tuesday and had no line, was in and out really quickly. Going close to closing is a great option. If there actually is a line at that time, they have to let you vote as long as you're in it before closing.

Ditto the Thursday rain experience - absolutely zero wait right at noon.

Yes, definitely bring the little card the BOE sent you in that mailer - it speeds things up!

Voted this morning (Friday) at Campos; arrived 7:15am, there were about 25 people waiting outdoors (in the rain!). My total wait, arrival to finish, was about 20 minutes total. When I left, there were only THREE people on line.

VOTE!!

We are working at Campos Plaza this year. Except for right when we opened at 7am, there has been no line all morning. Polls are open until 5pm. Come out and vote today! Tomorrow, with better weather, and the fact that it's a weekend, we may have more people coming out. But, we have extended hours: 7am - 5pm tomorrow and 7am - 4pm on Sunday. So happy to see so many neighbors coming out to vote. It takes a Village!!
