The Popeyes sign is in here at 39 First Ave. between Second Street and Third Street... (and what font is that???) Steven took these photos of the sign hot off the truck...
The quick-serve chicken emporium is expected to open here on Saturday. You can check out our previous post for a look inside.
P.S.
I do not know what's going on next door with d.b.a., which has not reopened since the PAUSE.

I don't understand why a chicken and seafood restaurant insists on including ground beef in it's seasonings and fries everything in beef tallow. There are lots of people with lots of reasons for not eating red meat. It's shady when your whole menu contains beef and you hide that info deeeeep.
I miss DBA so much.
This is depressing. Period.
This hairy dad bod cannot wait for this. I am over the moon its in our hood now.
No one is forcing anyone to eat there.
Me too. The DBA when both owners were alive. The amazing single malt collection. The hand drawn ales. The bar staff.
It's awesome and fun.

With a name like Popeye's, you'd expect there to be spinach in everything…sure wish that were true.
But I never expect places like Popeye's to have anything I'd want to eat…so, like the song says, I just walk on by.
Does anyone remember Pudgies?
Seems like there is a Pudgies in Queens.
Used to be one left in long island too. Pudgies was so good.
