Eons! You may have noticed the recent arrival of the for lease signs outside 9 Avenue B between Houston and Second Street.
No. 9 watchers think that this storefront hasn't been in use for retail in more than 30-plus years. It was an office/storage space for Michael Chang, the previous landlord, according to one source.
The new era coincides with the sale of the building this past summer. Centennial Properties — aka the new 9300 Realty owned by convicted felon Steve Croman — is now the landlord. (You can read about Croman's post-prison dealings here.)
The retail space at 9 Avenue B — 1,000 square feet — has a monthly ask of $7,495.
No. 11 next door, also now owned by Croman, has been home for 40-plus years to Raul's Barber Shop. More on them in another post.

Lot of activity on lower Avenue B between this and the gut reno happening at 21-23 Avenue B. Now we just need the building at B and Houston to have some change after how many decades of vacancy?
I caught the building super going into that building (6 ave B) and he mentioned that the owners were getting ready to sell it.
Seriously, how does a convicted thug like Croman get to continue the activities that put him in the hoosegow in the first place? Why, if you are a felon, can you not own a gun but somehow it's okay to buy buildings and drive up rents and drive people out and destroy lives that way?!?
Yep, that was Mike Chang's "office" a crazy mess! He used to be my landlord, one of the last EV landlords from another era where no credit checks were done, you just walked in this hole in the wall office and signed a one page lease lol Guess Mike sold all his EV buildings.
Good pics, Stacey Joy :)
Is it time to start eating the rich?
If there was ever a photo that needed to be clicked to enlarge, this office series is it!
6 Ave B will be a hard sell. The issue with this building is it is essentially a cell tower. All the equipment on the roof limits the ability to redevelop the property, especially the upper floors which are the most valuable (penthouse?). There are most probably long term leases with the cell providers for that space.
They need to stop giving incentives to landlords for keeping stores empty, they should be penalized for keeping spaces unoccupied
