16 hours on 12th Street

Just taking one last look at yesterday's NYU move in on 12th Street...the site of the former St. Ann's church....

Best moment maybe ever: An SUV pulls up, the man behind the wheel next to his daughter yells to an NYU security guard on the sidewalk, "Excuse me, do you speak English?!"

Anyway, at least the neighbors were prepped...

In the past, I wondered where NYU students got their since of entitlement and obnoxious attitude, after seeing several move-in days I've learned they get it from their parents.

Highlight of the day - a black SUV rolls up and the driver gets out, in his suit and tie. I'm a little confused, then the freshman gets out with his backpack... I realize that the driver was actually a "driver!" Who leaves the car in the middle of the 12th/4th intersection and gets all of the kids stuff.

Hours of entertainment on 12th street.

I guess now, they'll be praying to the almighty $; and for Eucharist, they'll have cupcakes and signature cocktails, instead of wafers and unfermented grape juice.

we'll all die somehow, Anon 8:03 :p

but yeah, not happy about the locust swarm. and anyone who moves into the St Ann's "dorm" is a brave soul (or an oblivious idiot) ... that place has seriously bad mojo.
