In submitting this photo from St. Mark's Place near Avenue A today, EVG regular Jose Garcia (jg) asks a reasonable question:
If there is any sort of "Best in Show" category might this specimen be worthy of consideration given how much fancier it is than the average belatedly discarded holiday tree?
The question is now in the hands of the holiday steering committee

Meh, I've seen better. Like my own, discarded 3 weeks ago, green at Kermit the Frog.
Hey, extra points for a real Christmas tree. The artificial trees are OK, but give me a really old, brown Charlie Brown tree for a top points winner any day! And where are people keeping these dried out trees before throwing them out on the street? In their apartments? On their rooftops? Backyards? Inquiring minds want to know.

Is it a live tree? Discarded plastic trees don’t count, that’s just spring cleaning

To the first commenter - why did you keep your tree for so long and why did you throw it out when you did? Inquiring minds want to know!
Tough crowd. Best, JG
