"Hip Manhattan-ites" wanted! Someone plans to make a reality show about dog runs

Spotted on St. Mark's Place and Avenue A. "Please send a photo of you and your furry friend." Heh.

Free clothes give-a-way today

Today on Avenue C between Eighth Street and Seventh Street.

The streets and sidewalks seem pretty empty this holiday weekend except for...

...all those people standing in line for brunch at Clinton Street Bakery Company....

Something new and different: Street fair!

On Third Avenue, from Fifth Street to 14th Street.

Meanwhile! There's also a street fair on 10th Street between Second Avenue and First Avenue... as part of the Lower East Side Festival of the Arts.

The end of Evolution (or whatever the place was called)

Went by the bar on the corner of Second Avenue and Fourth Street -- the one that had so many names I'm not even really sure what it's called -- for the flamethrowing contest* last night... and it was...

...closed. 4-ever. Apparently they did spend all their money on new awnings.

I will be hosting a screening of "Cocktail" later today* outside the bar with Hunter-Gatherer and Jeremiah Moss.

* not true

Another robbery suspect tries to flee the police by jumping into the East River

"A bizarre armed robbery triggered a brawl on the lower East Side Friday that ended with a gunman trying to get away by jumping into the East River." (Daily News)

Last month, the alleged ATM bandit tried to elude police by jumping (diving?) into the East River.

One more jumper/diver, and we have ourselves a trends piece...

Your worldwide leader in on-the-scene Step Up 3D photos on Avenue B tonight

Fake rainstorms and mood-elevating fog machines too!

See you around

While I'm waiting to film my big dance-off scene...

LeSouk appears to be the HQ for the "Step Up 3D" shoot today...

Report: LeSouk to continue haunting the East Village

Down by the Hipster has the story: "Bad news for Avenue B residents — Le Souk's liquor license has been reinstated. In a shocking decision, the New York State Appellate Division, First Department overturned a decision that resulted in the cancellation of Le Souk's license, saying it was "not based upon substantial evidence because it relied on a 'guesstimate' in determining that Le Souk was overcrowded on the night of Jan. 13, 2007.'" Is the recession over? Tiffany & Co. is advertising on bus shelters

On Water and Fulton in the Financial District.

"Step Up" set up at 6:30 a.m.

If you live on Avenue B between Second Street and Fourth Street, you likely heard the prep work taking place at 6:30 am today for "Step Up 3D." The delightful BEEP, BEEP, BEEP, BEEP, BEEP of the trucks backing up, moving into position for — perhaps! — a big dance number that will happen during a convenient rainstorm.

And I wonder what Avenue B will look in in 3D?

Into the sunset

We checked back in last night around 7:45 to see how Chico and company were doing on the new mural/ad on Houston and Avenue B...

Noted

Beginning this weekend, Axe is trying to appeal to New York area pick-up artists with a new venture: it is sponsoring a Hamptons nightclub for the entire summer. “Axe is all about the mating game, and the best place for a mating game is at a nightclub,” said Michael Heller, the founder and chief executive of Talent Resources, which is advising Axe on the project. "Step Up 3-D" taking over B, 2 and 4

In case you are wondering why a lot of hunky, six-pack-ab types are walking around...More than usual, anyway.
