'Daily News' covers East River cat rescue story

Here's the link if you're interested. One note... East Village resident Clotilde Testa and her boyfriend Robert Walker first spotted the cat Friday. Clotilde said that the cat's name will be Leo — he was found on a barge called "Uncle Leo." He was nicknamed Skipper, though she thinks Leo is more fitting. She plans on officially adopting Leo tomorrow.

No hat tip from the Daily News to EV Grieve who broke the story. Typical. I'm glad Leo is safe, this was a great story.

Yeah--the little buddy will have a good home in the EV. Minnie McSorley will be pleased. A cool new friend.

It's wonderful that Leo has a new lease on life, but I think the name should be Leona. The little baby is a Calico, and they are usually female. It's really rare to have a male Calico. Never-the-less, this kitty has a new home and I so happy.

And KUDOS to EV Grieve for breaking the story, and always looking out for the animals in the neighborhood. Thank you.
