Hawked again

EV Grieve correspondent Bobby Williams was hanging out in Tompkins Square Park this afternoon when guess who just plopped down next to him...

Yes, it's Tommy, the red-tailed hawk sponsored by "The Smurfs Movie," coming to you in 3D next Friday!*

* Just testing out some names and corporate partners...

Tommy's beak is a little blue...I think that may answer BagelGuy's Smurf question from the post below.

Nooo, not Tommy! Its name is Evie, remember? We decided that last winter! :) Nice little mouse catch, by the way.

The Focus Groups thought Evie was too close to EV.

But seriously, random fact: Evie was the name of the main character in the NBC show "Out of This World"

Evie Ethel Garland (Maureen Flannigan) — Evie is a half-human, half-alien girl who lives with her mother in Marlowe, California, in a house overlooking the sea. Evie is an only child. Her mother had always told Evie that her father was a secret agent, but on her thirteenth birthday Evie began to develop superhuman abilities and it was revealed that her father is an extraterrestrial from the planet Antareus. Evie attends a school for gifted children (run by her mother) and achieves good grades there. Her father describes her as "the perfect child: loving; caring; with the same needs of most teenagers". The series follows Evie through her teenage years, from her thirteenth birthday in the first episode to her eighteenth birthday in the final episode.

Said it before, I'll say it again: In honor of Tompkins' punk heritage, this bird should obviously be called Mo. Mo Hawk.

I think Bobby has made a new friend. I love these photos. Evie has a friend too--Tommy.
