St. Mark's in the morning
EVG Facebook friend Sam Teichman shared these photos along St Mark's Place — between First Avenue and Third Avenue — from a quiet Columbus Day morning...
That's exactly what inspired me to take the album! So glad you two liked it. The early morning hours in this neighborhood are so serene and picturesque - until about noon, when it gets hectic and crowded....
I wish I had more pics from the 70's as a kid growing up...before it became such a commercialized tourist trap hole, when living above the St. Marks Bookshop meant we could put are garbage under the stairs. As a kid I was jealous of those living in front of the building because they could see the world, now living in the rear is a blessing.
