Coming soon to Seventh Street: Luke's Lobster

On Seventh Street near First Avenue between the two Caracas Arepa Bar locations.

UPDATED: Oops, didn't realize that Grub Street reported on this a little earlier this afternoon... they have a lot more information on the owners, two former lobstermen.

be still my heart! Lobster, in the hood. There's Ed's down in Soho, they have some slamming Lobster meatballs but there hasn't been a lobster joint in the EV for ages.

I remember one, a million years ago, and by that I think I mean the 80's. It was lobster and corn on the cob and all casual. On Third Avenue, somewhere between 7th St and 14th Street. The 80's are a bit hazy....

Thanks for the comment, thejodi. Did you every try Urban Lobster on Houston around the corner from A? My friend tried it once and spent a fortune...and he didn't care much for it...

Not much of a recommendation, that. I'll wait on this new joint....

That place was the Lobster Pound, on 3rd at 10th Street, and it wss fantastic: fried whole-belly clams! Live lobsters!

Anyway, I tried Luke's today and it was great. Claw and knuckle meat only, but top quality and a superb toasted roll. They'll be getting lobster tails, bisque, chowder and crab claws...hopefully fried clams too! Anyway, the place is killer good.
