Work has started on the Dona Petra Santiago Apartments on East Ninth Street between Avenue C and Avenue D. Plans call for an eight-story, 57-unit facility for seniors.
While this is a good thing for the community, a few neighbors weren't pleased to discover that construction starts at 7 a.m.
The residents of one building were told by management that construction wouldn't start until 8 and never on weekends. Work is expected to be done during the winter of 2011.

Not only does construction start at 7 a.m. here but two buildings down is being renovated. I've woken up at 6:30 every morning this week to the lovely sounds of trucks and hammers.
Loud construction now, but this place will probably be a nice quiet neighbor once it's up and running (except maybe for the idling Acces-A-Ride buses).
For few days this area will be noisy place but you can sure that after few days this area will be the quit place of the town as there are construction going on they require to work with the help of big Trucks and Hammers and construction equipments.
Thanks,
