20 months later, A Building finally free of sidewalk shed, construction netting

Over on East 13th Street, the pool-topped A Building is visible again... On Aug. 31, 2010, workers put up a sidewalk shed here between Avenue A and First Avenue ... On Sept. 12, 2011, workers put up the construction netting...

So, roughly 20 months later, the crews have cleared up all signs of the repair work...

According to a DOB permit, workers were completing "balcony repairs."

You can read about the background on the "massive headaches" at the A Building in The Real Deal.

I still don't understand why someone would pay a million plus dollars to live there. The views are tenements on 13th and Associated Market on 14th. Though the Petco is mighty convenient!

Whenever I walk by I crouch down, grimace, and put my arms up like its going to fall on me. The looks from people are hysterical, but not as funny as when they google the building wondering why I did that and realize I'm a fucking comedian.

I've never understood the new condo style, the buildings look like shit, and their design is NOT something that is going to get better with age. No way in hell will there ever be a neo-soviet architectural style in 600 years, and no way will anyone look back at these in 80 years and say " wow, I really treasure this, what a wonderful form to behold".

What a relief to be able to see the architectural beauty of this building in all its glory without scaffolding. A real gem and a glorious addition to 13th Street.

Jill, a master of irony? Or are you serious? I think this is one of the fug-ugliest structures I have ever seen in this life or any other. Oh, you MUST be kidding...
