I've bitched plenty about Artichoke here but that's a pretty cute sign, I must admit. Also, now that they've taken over the former Curly's space, their customers are not clogging up the sidewalk quite so much, which is nice.
Does someone live in the apartment right next to that Artichoke sign? It is cool, but if I lived in that apartment I might be blinded by the neon!
I wouldn't mind the sign outside my window. I may actual feel like I live in New York.
I didn't think they gave out permits for new neon overhanging signs anymore. This one doesn't look as bright as John's or Veniero's -- whoever lives next to those must be quite nocturnal. P.S. I hate Artichoke's pizza, too thick and heavy (I think they overwork the dough).
The sign may not look bright from the street, but it wields a pretty strong glare into my apartment across the street. I actually like Artichoke, but I don't understand the need for the sign, it's not like they were lacking for publicity. Everyone in the greater Metro area knows where Artichoke is.
Buy a shade.
Totally unnecessary sign, let alone a neon one.
